The UEFA Women's Europa Cup knockout phase is under way, and the round of 16 first legs — played on October 28 and 29 — produced one statement win, five away victories and two draws. Wolfsburg's 7-0 demolition of Feyenoord was the headline, with Cora Zicai scoring an eight-minute hat-trick, while Brann, Eintracht Frankfurt, Hammarby, Real Sociedad and Malmö all won on the road. Sparta Praha and Rosenborg were both held at home. Here are all eight results, and what they mean for the second legs on November 10 and 11.
Round of 16 first-leg results
Wednesday, October 28
- Brann 3-0 Czarni Sosnowiec
- Spartak Myjava 1-3 Hammarby
- PSV Eindhoven 0-2 Eintracht Frankfurt
- Real Sociedad 2-0 Fenerbahçe
- Wolfsburg 7-0 Feyenoord
- Ajax 1-2 Malmö
Thursday, October 29

The competition is in its second season as UEFA's secondary women's club tournament, and it is played as a straight knockout — every round, including the final, is a two-legged home-and-away tie. The final is on May 8 or 9, 2027. Sixteen teams reached this stage from the second qualifying round, with eight seeded sides drawn against eight unseeded sides in a draw held on October 2.
Wolfsburg's statement: seven goals, one hat-trick
Wolfsburg, last season's semi-finalists in this competition, were ruthless at the AOK Stadion. Cora Zicai struck a hat-trick in eight minutes, Lara Prašnikar scored twice, and the German side ran out 7-0 winners over Feyenoord. Zicai's treble makes her the early outright leader in the competition's scoring charts with three goals, and the tie is effectively over before the second leg in Rotterdam on November 10 — although Feyenoord will want a response in front of their own fans.
The away winners: Brann, Frankfurt, Hammarby, Real Sociedad, Malmö
Brann were almost as commanding. Three goals inside the opening 20 minutes, including a Brenna Lovera double, put the Norwegian side in control of their tie with Czarni Sosnowiec, and the 3-0 win in Bergen leaves them firmly in charge. Lovera's two goals put her second in the early scoring charts, behind Zicai.
Eintracht Frankfurt, also semi-finalists last season, took a two-goal lead into their home leg against PSV Eindhoven, with early goals from Hayley Raso and Laura Freigang securing a 2-0 win in the Netherlands. Real Sociedad beat Fenerbahçe 2-0 in Spain, Hammarby won 3-1 away at Spartak Myjava in Slovakia, and Malmö won 2-1 away at Ajax — a strong night for the away sides across the board.
The two draws: Sparta and Rosenborg held
Not every seeded side had it their own way. Sparta Praha were held 2-2 at home by Torreense of Portugal, and Rosenborg drew 1-1 at home with Brøndby of Denmark. Both ties are finely balanced going into the second legs, and both home sides in the return fixtures will fancy their chances of turning the ties around.
Second legs: November 10 and 11
The return fixtures are played on November 10 and 11. Feyenoord host Wolfsburg on November 10 (7:00 p.m. CET) with a seven-goal mountain to climb, while Czarni Sosnowiec host Brann on November 11 (5:00 p.m. CET) and Eintracht Frankfurt host PSV Eindhoven on November 11 (6:30 p.m. CET). The winners advance to the quarter-finals of UEFA's second-tier women's competition.
